How Do I Meet People?

Our church is not a place for spectators. It is a place for team members. Whether you are a five-year old child, a ninety-five year old grandmother, a busy mom, or a businessman with big responsibilities, we want you to be a part of our vibrant church community. Here is how you can learn, grow, and connect with our church.

Adult Small Groups

Often, small groups of people are better able to interact and learn about a topic than larger groups are. For that reason, our church has small Bible studies held on Wednesday nights and during Sunday School. Our Wednesday night small groups meet in the Adult II classroom to engage in a study that ranges in topic from World Religions to How to Study Your Bible. Our Sunday School small groups meet at 9:30 AM on Sunday mornings and are organized according to age range. Currently, our Sunday School classes are using the Explore the Bible curriculum from LifeWay.

Youth Ministry

Our youth directors, Steve and Debbie Lancaster, are passionate about our students and desire to see them grow in the Word. Each Sunday morning, our students meet in the youth room at 9:30 AM for Bible study and coffee. Each Wednesday night, our students meet in the youth room at 7:00 PM for their own Youth Service which includes fellowship, worship, Bible study, and discussion. Our students also are involved in community activities, youth events, concerts, Teen College, and more!

Children’s Ministry

Want to be in a church where you know your children are loved and taught the Word of God? Risco FBC is undoubtedly the place! Our children meet each Sunday morning for Sunday School and are divided according to age groups. Following Sunday School, our children meet in the sanctuary for worship and then go with Mrs. Marsha to Bee Church for time in God’s Word. . On Wednesday nights, we offer classes for children ages 4-12 that are taught by Mrs. Angie Miller, Mrs. Ashley Zuniga, and Mrs. Debbie Carlisle. Our children enjoy fun activities and learn God’s Word each and every Wednesday. We also have nursery available on Sunday mornings/nights and Wednesdays for children ages 0-3. Our children are also involved in numerous other activities including plays, Church Camp, VBS, outings, and more! Our nursery and children’s departments are tightly monitored with sign-in/sign-out forms for our nursery so that you know your children are safe.

Women’s Group

Women’s Group gives the ladies in our church family special times of interaction. Our women’s group meets regularly to share in activities such as Chalk Paint Parties, Christian Comedy Concerts, Exercise Classes, Food and Bible Study, and more! If you are a woman and are looking for a good way to connect, this is your opportunity!

Men’s Group

Accountability among men is an act of integrity. Accountability is designed to protect, encourage, and develop men of all ages. Our Men’s Group provides this opportunity to our men through providing regular events to meet and grow together. Our Men’s Group meets regularly to share in activities such as Monthly Men’s Breakfast, Men’s Conferences, Skeet Shoots, and more!

Married Couples

Even though marriage is one of the most important institutions, it is the one which is under the most attack–internally and externally. As a result, it is important that we are able to help one another grow in the Lord and grow in our marriages. We provide opportunities for married couples to gather together at class parties where nursery is provided. Also, we offer teaching that will help to give you the skills to make your marriage prosper.

Senior Groups

Once you reach the age of “senior”, the fun has just begun! Whether retired, just plain tired, or active as ever, the Senior Groups of Risco FBC provide refreshment, ministry, and times of valuable interaction. Our seniors are involved in activities such as scenic trips, class fellowships, restaurant visits, and more!
